Temnothorax racovitzai is a beautiful, extremely compact dwarf ant species from Southern Europe. Unlike many other species, the colony size here doesn't explode – a mature colony often only numbers around 50 to 100 ants.

This makes this species perfect for keeping in the smallest micro-formicariums. When foraging, the small, amber to dark brown patterned worker ants move through the arena extremely peacefully and thoughtfully. A real highlight for macro observations!
