You love the behavior of harvester ants, but want a colony that can live with multiple queens? Then Messor structor is exactly your kind! This impressive ant is one of the very few Messor species that are distinctly polygynous. This means: several queens work peacefully together, leading to enormous brood production and extremely dynamic colony development.
