Physarum polycephalum

Physarum polycephalum is neither a fungus nor an animal – it belongs to the Myxomycetes and is one of the most fascinating creatures on our planet. Famous as "The Blob", this single-celled organism has the astonishing ability to solve labyrinths, find the most efficient routes to food sources, and even learn – all without a brain or nervous system. It is also an excellent protein-rich feed for isopods or springtails, especially for picky species that usually reject other food sources.

Scope of delivery: A small petri dish with a slime mold culture. Should the slime mold dry out during delivery, it can simply be revived with a little moisture.
